36 oz Glass Meal Prep Dishes, 5 Pack

★★★★★4.652,932 ratings

One open bay of 36 oz, which is the shape that suits a meal you intend to mix. Rice under a curry, pasta under a sauce, a grain bowl that gets stirred before it goes in the microwave. There is nothing to work around when you fill it and nothing to scrub around when you wash it.

About this set

The 36 oz single bay is the workhorse of the range. It holds a genuine dinner portion, it is the size the bundles are built around, and it is the one to buy if you only ever buy one shape.

Borosilicate is the reason this dish can start in an oven. Ordinary storage glass is soda lime, which moves a great deal as it heats and cracks when one part of it moves faster than another. Swapping most of the sodium for boron cuts that movement to roughly a third, and the dish stops minding the trip from a 400°F oven to a fridge shelf.

Four clips and a silicone gasket seal the lid. That is what makes the dish bag-safe rather than just fridge-safe. The lid stays out of the oven, and it comes off or sits loose in a microwave, because steam with nowhere to go is what ends a gasket's useful life.

Five come in the box. Five covers a working week with nothing spare, so most households end up with two sets rather than one. The kit builder on this site does that arithmetic properly.

Before the first use. Wash everything once, lids included, and check that each gasket sits flat in its groove. A gasket that arrived twisted will leak, and straightening it takes thirty seconds before there is food in the dish rather than after.
